Aurora images taken in 2001

The images below are from the Aurora seen on 2001/10/21. The display started around 16:25UT and was quite strong. I grabbed my camera and set off to a dark site which had a lower, clear Northern horizon. Most of the activity had subsided by the time I got to the site, but it quickly picked up again. The dimmer images are around 5 seconds, the brightest around 15 seconds and the others around 10 seconds. The were all taken on Kodak Elite Chrome 200 with a 28mm lens at f/2.8.

The first three images were taken early on, with not much activity.

The last 11 were taken around 20:24UT. The activity subsided for a while then picked up again.
